Corporate Governance Practices and Capital Structure: Evidence from Malaysian Capital Market

Corporate Governance has become the most inevitable issues around world as emergence of prominent corporate scandals, for example, Enron and WorldCom. It was also known an important key of leading good financing decision in a company. The motivation behind this project sought to investigate influences practices on capital structure among Top 100 companies overall performance in Malaysian Capital Market over period 2012 2016. All data gathered from annual report listed firms Bursa Malaysia Stock Exchange, excluding financial companies due their special rules regulation system. This study been employed descriptive analysis, correlation analysis fixed effects regression model find out research objectives. Results indicate that board gender, independence audit committee, profitability were statistically negative leverage. Further, the research found large firm size with high managerial ownership will pursue debt policy. Nonetheless, debt- to-equity ratio no zero relationship independence. These findings be useful policymaker formulate mechanisms as well asinvestorsfor assessing companiesin before making investment decision.
